Welcome to Shelburne NH
The family owned Mt. Washington Bed and Breakfast is an 1838 Federal style farmhouse with four guest rooms, including one first floor accommodation, all with private baths. The house sits on a hill overlooking the Androscoggin River and Reflection Pond in the Androscoggin River Valley which is located in the northeast corner of New Hampshire’s White Mountains.
Relax on our porch and gaze at Mount Washington, the highest peak in the Northeast at 6,288′. In the spring, or after significant rainfall you can see Giant Falls as it tumbles over the Mahoosic Range in Shelburne. We are one of the closest bed and breakfasts to Pinkham Notch where you will find the Mt. Washington Auto Road, the oldest manmade attraction in the U.S., Wildcat Mountain, and the AMC Pinkham Notch Visitor’s Center where many of the hikes to the summit of Mt. Washington begin.
This Federal style farmhouse was built in the mid 1800’s and has been a bed and breakfast since 1853 when it was bought by Harvey and Susannah Philbrook. The Tanner Family purchased the inn in 1929 and operated “The Androscoggin Inn” until 1984. The current owners, the Mayers, have been running the bed and breakfast since their purchase in 1999.
